What are B Vitamins?

B Vitamins are a group of water-soluble vitamins that play important roles in cell metabolism. The B vitamins were once thought to be a single vitamin, referred to as Vitamin B. Later research showed that they are chemically distinct vitamins that often coexist in the same foods. B12 (cobalamin) is required to help the body’s nerve and blood cells function properly and creates DNA inside the cells. At Serenity Rejuvenation Center we offer B12 injections and home injection kits in the form of ‘methylcobalamin’ – as opposed to the synthetic version called ‘cyanocobalamin’. We also offer B-Complex injections and home kits, which are a combination of 5 different B-Vitamins that many of the body’s systems require to function normall

Most people do not eat those foods daily, and many do not eat them at all. Also, absorption of B Vitamins from food into the body requires very specific levels of hydrochloric acid in the stomach to separate the Vitamin B from food, as well as the release of a protein made by the stomach called ‘intrinsic factor’ to combine with the B Vitamin to carry it into the blood stream. Many people do not make enough or any of the ‘intrinsic factor’ – a condition called pernicious anemia.

Injecting B Vitamins right into the muscles is the most effective way to give the body access to them. There are a lot of drinks and oral supplements that contain B Vitamins, but the absorption of them relies heavily on perfect conditions in the stomach and research has shown that absorption and effectiveness of oral B Vitamins is minuscule.

What are the side effects of B Vitamin Injections? Can I overdose?

As water-soluble vitamins, the B Vitamins are considered non-toxic and overdose and/or major side effects are rarely seen.
