Botox For Hyperhidrosis

What is Hyperhidrosis?

Hyperhidrosis, also known as polyhidrosis or sudorrhea means excessive sweating; sweating too much. Hidrosis means sweating, while hyper means too much, or excessively. The excessive sweating may be either localized in specific parts of the body, or generalized (everywhere). Most commonly, Hyperhidrosis affects your underarms, as that is where it is most noticeable.

The Treatment:

Though Botox is mostly used to reduce wrinkles on the face, it was also FDA approved to be used therapeutically to help reduce excessive sweating under your arms. This treatment typically requires 100 units (50 units for each arm) but that can vary. It is a very simple and relatively painless procedure. We do everything we can to make all of our treatments comfortable for our patients.

How Long Does It Last?

Unlike facial Botox treatments that last up to 4 months, Botox for Hyperhidrosis treatments can last anywhere from 6 to 9 months!
